DO NOT EVER USE PRICELINE!

DO NOT EVER USE PRICELINE ! I can not even give Priceline a
single star. In the past I had used Priceline for several hotel and
rental car reservations. This time I booked a flight/hotel package with
Priceline. After this experience I will NEVER use Priceline again. Cheap
pricing = cheap service! I booked a trip for two from Austin, TX to St.
Croix. The trip is a couple months away, but we wanted to be sure to get
the best deal and have everything booked. After booking our trip I
contacted our hotel, The Buccaneer, directly to upgrade our room. They
we nothing short of awesome. They upgraded our room with no problems but
did inform me that there is a $212.00 surcharge booking through
Priceline that I was going to be charged regardless of the upgrade. I
was unaware of this charge. She also informed me if I had booked through
any other travel site there would not be this surcharge. Here I thought
I was getting a great deal but I'm already being assessed additional
charges just for going through Priceline. I still felt I was getting a
decent deal so I did not fuss about this charge. Two days ago a customer
service representative from Priceline contacted me to inform me that a
portion of both my departure flight and return flight had been cancelled
by the airline. The only resolution she presented me was to stay the
night in San Juan and arrive in St. Croix a day later. They did not
contact American Airlines to try to find an alterative itinerary. I was
at worked and asked her to contact American Airlines and see what other
options there were. I was aware there we're other options to get us
there the same date. She said she would get back with me, and never did.
I proceeded to make 3 more calls to Priceline and send 3 emails in an
effort to get everything resolved. I finally contacted AA myself. The
gentleman I spoke with at AA was trying to be as helpful as possible. He
informed me that normally he could work with me to fix everything but
that Priceline had managed to cancel my entire departure flight not just
the cancelled portion. He said the only way for this to be fixed was for
Priceline to contact AA. Two more phone calls to Priceline and I got no
where. Every customer service agent/supervisor I spoke with I could
barely understand, they were not pleasant and absolutely no help. End
result,,, I am getting a refund and have to rebook my entire trip!
Hopefully the refund goes smoother than the rest of my experience with
Priceline!
